Your new Ford Explorer will treat you well over the years if you take care of it as well. Consistent maintenance is the best way to keep your Explorer in the best possible shape, so follow these guidelines to stay on top of everything.

 Every 5,000 miles:

  • Adjusting tire pressure and rotating if needed

  • Replacing any burnt-out light bulbs

  • Inspecting brake system

  • Topping off fluid levels

  • Inspecting coolant system

  • Inspecting power steering and suspension

All 15,000 mile service items, plus:

This service should include all of the 5,000-mile service items, as well as inspecting the drive axle boots, differential, and exhaust system. You may also need to change your windshield wiper blades, though this will depend on how often you use them. Finally, you should replace your air filters as well, both in the engine and in the cabin.

All 30,000 service items, plus:

  • Fuel lines

You'll also need to change the fuel filter, as well as the seat cushion filters for Explorers with climate-controlled seats.
